Production line layout is an important factor affecting the operating efficiency, output capacity and production cost of medium-sized textile factories. Many newly built and renovated medium-sized factories have unreasonable equipment layout, chaotic process flow, insufficient operation spacing and disordered material transportation, resulting in low equipment utilization rate, long material handling cycle, serious space waste and restricted production capacity expansion. Scientific and standardized production line layout optimization can maximize workshop space utilization, smooth production process connection, reduce invalid handling time, and comprehensively improve factory operation efficiency and output capacity without increasing plant area and equipment investment. This article combines the actual production characteristics of splitting, texturing and twisting production lines to put forward targeted layout optimization schemes and capacity improvement strategies for medium-sized textile factories.
The core principle of textile production line layout is process continuity and shortest material flow distance. The standard production process of chemical fiber yarn is raw material unwinding → splitting processing → false twisting/texturing finishing → winding forming → finished product output. The equipment layout must follow the one-way process flow to avoid cross-operation, back-and-forth handling and process crossing. Traditional unreasonable layout often arranges finishing equipment in front and splitting equipment at the back, resulting in repeated handling of semi-finished yarn, increased labor cost and prolonged production cycle. Optimized layout takes the raw material warehouse as the starting point, arranges splitting machines in the front section, texturing and false twisters in the middle section, and winding and finished product area in the rear section, realizing straight-line one-way production flow and eliminating invalid material handling links.
Equipment spacing setting is the key detail affecting operation efficiency and safety. Too small spacing will cause equipment vibration superposition, mutual interference, inconvenient operator operation and maintenance, and easy safety accidents; too large spacing will cause serious workshop space waste and restrict equipment quantity configuration and capacity expansion. The standardized spacing standard between large textile equipment is 2.8–3.5 meters, which not only avoids vibration interference between adjacent equipment, ensures sufficient operation and maintenance space for workers, but also maximizes space utilization. The spacing between small auxiliary equipment and main equipment is controlled at 1.2–1.5 meters to meet the needs of daily inspection and cleaning.
Equipment matching ratio optimization determines the balanced production capacity of the whole line. The unreasonable equipment ratio will lead to process bottlenecks, idle equipment in some links and overloaded operation in some links, resulting in unbalanced overall production capacity. After a large number of factory data verification, the optimal matching ratio of medium-sized factory production lines is 4 splitting machines matched with 12 false twisters and 4 texturing machines, realizing balanced capacity of front and rear processes. This ratio completely avoids the backlog of semi-finished split yarn and the idle waiting of finishing equipment, and maximizes the continuous operation efficiency of the whole production line. Factories with unreasonable ratio can adjust equipment configuration through process transformation to eliminate capacity bottlenecks and increase overall output by 16%–22%.
Workshop functional partition optimization is conducive to standardized management and quality stability. The optimized workshop is divided into raw material storage area, production operation area, finished product temporary storage area, equipment maintenance area and inspection and testing area. Independent functional areas avoid cross-contamination of raw materials, semi-finished products and finished products, reduce yarn dust pollution and quality pollution problems. The independent maintenance area concentrates vulnerable parts storage and equipment maintenance work, realizing standardized accessory management and rapid maintenance response, reducing maintenance waiting time by 35%.
Environmental system overall layout includes temperature and humidity control, dust removal system and ventilation system layout. Uniformly arrange constant temperature and humidity equipment according to equipment distribution, ensure consistent environmental indicators in the production area, and eliminate regional quality difference caused by uneven environmental temperature and humidity. The centralized dust removal system is arranged above the high-dust operation area to reduce floating fiber and dust concentration in the workshop, improve yarn surface cleanliness and reduce equipment wear speed.

Vulnerable parts are the key consumable components of textile machinery, and their operating state directly determines equipment precision, production stability and yarn quality. Most textile equipment faults and quality defects are caused by overdue replacement and aging failure of vulnerable parts. Traditional factory maintenance mostly adopts post-fault replacement mode, which leads to sudden equipment shutdown, batch defective yarn production and increased maintenance costs, seriously affecting continuous and stable factory production. Establishing scientific vulnerable parts service life judgment standards and early warning mechanisms, and formulating standardized replacement cycles can realize predictive maintenance of equipment, eliminate hidden faults in advance, and maximize equipment operation efficiency and production stability. This article will systematically sort out the core vulnerable parts of splitting machines, false twisters, Chenille machines and two-for-one twisters, clarify failure characteristics, service life standards and scientific replacement cycles.
String-up steel wire is the key vulnerable part of splitting machines and texturing machines, undertaking yarn guiding and tension transmission tasks. Ordinary inferior steel wires have a service life of only 400–500 working hours, and are prone to deformation, burrs and fracture after long-term tension operation. Deformed steel wires will cause unstable yarn tension and scratch filaments, resulting in yarn breakage and hairiness defects. High-quality original LX 1200-0500 steel wires produced by Lanxiang Machinery adopt high-toughness alloy material, with a standard service life of 900 working hours, and can maintain stable toughness and flatness for a long time. The early warning signs of steel wire failure are increased yarn breakage frequency, occasional tension fluctuation and tiny scratches on yarn surface. Standard replacement cycle is 850–900 working hours, and forced replacement is required before failure to avoid quality loss.
False twister friction disc is the core functional component that determines yarn twisting quality, and its wear degree directly affects crimp uniformity and elastic stability. A new friction disc can maintain stable friction coefficient for 4500 working hours, ensuring consistent twisting force. After exceeding 4500 hours, the surface friction layer gradually wears thin, the friction coefficient decreases, resulting in insufficient yarn crimp, reduced elasticity and uneven batch quality. Severe wear will cause twisting failure and large-area unqualified yarn. The early warning characteristics of friction disc aging are gradual yarn elasticity attenuation, increased crimp difference and slightly fluctuating twisting sound. The scientific replacement cycle of friction discs is 4200–4500 working hours, and batch replacement is required to ensure consistent twisting state of the whole machine.
Textile machine flat drive belt is the core transmission component, responsible for equipment speed synchronization and power transmission. The standard service life of high-quality anti-aging belts is 18 months under standard temperature and humidity environment. After long-term high-speed operation, the belt will produce aging elongation, surface hardening and crack defects, resulting in transmission slipping, speed fluctuation and asynchronous front and rear process speed. Slight belt deviation and occasional speed jitter are early warning signs of belt aging. In high-temperature workshop environment above 60℃, the belt aging speed is accelerated, and the service life is shortened to 8–10 months, so the replacement cycle needs to be adjusted in advance. Timely replacement of aging belts can eliminate 70% of speed-induced yarn quality defects.
Spindle bearing is the precision vulnerable part of two-for-one twisters and Chenille machines, determining spindle operation stability and vibration value. High-precision bearings have a standard service life of 6000 working hours. With the increase of operation time, internal lubricant volatilization and mechanical wear will occur, resulting in increased spindle vibration, abnormal noise and reduced operation precision. When the spindle vibration value exceeds 0.08 mm and the operating noise is louder than 65 dB, it indicates that the bearing has entered the aging failure stage. Delayed replacement will lead to serious twist unevenness and yarn breakage problems. The standardized maintenance rule is to replace bearings and replenish high-temperature grease every 5500–6000 working hours to restore spindle precision.
Air nozzle and oiling nozzle are precision auxiliary vulnerable parts of texturing machines, which are easy to accumulate dust, oil dirt and fiber debris during long-term operation, resulting in blockage and reduced working efficiency. The air nozzle blockage will cause insufficient yarn opening and uneven bulking; oiling nozzle blockage will lead to uneven yarn oiling and dry yarn defects. The standard cleaning cycle of nozzles is 500 working hours, and the replacement cycle is 3000 working hours. Timely cleaning and replacement ensure the stability of yarn bulking and lubrication effect.
The predictive maintenance system formed by scientific vulnerable parts management can reduce equipment sudden failure rate by 53%, reduce annual maintenance cost by 22%, and stabilize yarn batch qualification rate above 98.7%. Factories that implement standardized vulnerable parts replacement cycles completely get rid of passive post-fault maintenance, realize active preventive maintenance, greatly improve production line stability and reduce comprehensive operating losses.

Two-for-one twister is the core equipment for yarn finishing processing, and its twisting quality directly determines the strength, wear resistance, compactness and appearance grade of finished yarn. Different types of yarns such as fine denier yarn, medium denier yarn, thick industrial yarn and special sewing thread have completely different twisting process requirements. Unreasonable process parameter setting and unstable equipment operation will lead to uneven twist, loose strand, insufficient strength and batch quality difference, which seriously affect downstream weaving and finished fabric quality. Most textile factories adopt single fixed twisting parameter for all yarn specifications, resulting in low qualification rate of special yarns and large quality fluctuation of batch products. This article will comprehensively elaborate the full-spec twisting process optimization technology of two-for-one twisters and the systematic batch consistency control method, covering conventional civilian yarn and industrial special yarn production scenarios.
Fine denier yarn below 300D has fine filament structure and low tensile toughness, which is easy to break and produce scratch defects during high-speed twisting. The core of fine yarn twisting process is low-speed stability and low-tension protection. The optimal spindle speed for fine yarn production is controlled at 260–300 rpm, which is 15% lower than the conventional standard speed, effectively reducing centrifugal tension impact and avoiding strand fracture. The winding tension is reduced by 12%–18% to prevent excessive tension from stretching fine yarn and causing thin-point defects. The yarn path is optimized with large radian transition to eliminate sharp friction points, reducing yarn surface scratch defect rate by 43%.
Twist density matching for fine yarn is mainly medium and low twist, with 300–600 TPM suitable for knitted and lightweight woven fabrics. Excessively high twist will make the yarn hard and stiff, affecting fabric hand feel and comfort; excessively low twist will result in loose yarn structure and insufficient strength, easy to disperse and break during weaving. The tension closed-loop system must be kept in real-time working state to avoid instantaneous tension surge caused by speed change, ensuring uniform twist distribution of fine yarn strands. After process optimization, the fine yarn twisting qualification rate can be increased from 93.8% to 98.5%.
Medium denier conventional yarn 300D–800D is the most widely used textile yarn specification, with balanced fiber toughness and structural stability, suitable for standardized high-efficiency twisting production. The standard spindle speed is 300–360 rpm, with stable operation and high production efficiency. The twist density is flexibly adjusted between 400–900 TPM according to fabric application scenarios: medium and low twist for home textile fabrics, medium and high twist for garment woven fabrics. The key point of medium denier yarn twisting quality control is speed stability and tension uniformity. The equipment speed fluctuation must be controlled within ±1.5 rpm, and tension deviation within ±3 cN to ensure no twist difference in batch production.
Thick industrial yarn above 800D and high-strength sewing thread require high twist density and compact strand structure, with strict requirements on yarn strength and wear resistance. The production process needs to appropriately increase spindle torque and winding tension, and reduce speed moderately to ensure full twist forming. The optimal speed range for high-strength yarn is 280–320 rpm, and the twist density is set at 900–1200 TPM. High-tension winding improves yarn compactness and structural stability, increasing yarn breaking strength by 25%–30%. At the same time, strengthen spindle dynamic balance calibration to avoid vibration-induced twist deviation, ensuring uniform twist distribution of thick strands.
Batch quality consistency control is the key difficulty in large-scale two-for-one twisting production. Long-term equipment operation will cause spindle wear, tension drift and belt aging, resulting in gradual quality difference between early and late batches of products. Establishing a regular precision calibration system is the core solution. Conduct spindle dynamic balance calibration every month, tension system full calibration every 20 days, and transmission belt tension adjustment every half month to eliminate equipment parameter drift. At the same time, unify workshop environmental standards, stabilize temperature at 22–28℃ and humidity at 62%–68% RH, avoid seasonal environmental changes affecting yarn twisting state.
Lanxiang Machinery two-for-one twister realizes full-spec process adaptive optimization through intelligent parameter system. The equipment is preloaded with fine yarn, medium yarn, industrial high-strength yarn and sewing thread dedicated process templates, realizing one-key switching of different production modes. The high-precision spindle structure maintains long-term stable operation vibration below 0.06 mm, ensuring ultra-uniform twist distribution. The intelligent tension self-calibration system automatically corrects parameter drift in real time, keeping batch twist error within ±4 TPM for a long time.
Through full-spec process optimization and standardized batch control, the comprehensive unqualified rate of twisted yarn is reduced from 3.2% to below 0.9%, the annual batch quality complaint rate is reduced by 68%, and the factory’s stable order delivery capacity and brand credibility are greatly improved. For textile factories with multi-specification and multi-variety twisting production, systematic process optimization is the core means to stabilize quality, reduce losses and improve comprehensive benefits.
